What Would You Like to Get Back to Doing?

Regenerative Medicine at Revitalize

Pain, an old injury, stiffness, slower recovery or declining mobility can gradually change the way you live.

Maybe you stopped hiking.

Maybe workouts take longer to recover from.

Maybe your knee determines how far you walk.

Maybe your shoulder changes how you sleep.

Maybe you’ve simply started accepting limitations that weren’t there a few years ago.

At Revitalize, we don’t start with a vial or a procedure.

We start with you.

Our regenerative medicine program takes an individualized approach to understanding what is limiting you, what you have already tried, what you want to accomplish, and whether regenerative medicine may have an appropriate place in your overall plan.

Available through Revitalize Clinics in Northern Arizona.

Your Body Is More Than the Area That Hurts

A painful knee isn’t just a knee.

A shoulder problem can affect sleep.

Poor sleep can affect recovery.

Reduced activity can affect strength, energy, mood and overall quality of life.

An old injury can change movement patterns throughout the body.

That’s why Revitalize takes a broader approach.

Rather than asking only:

“Where does it hurt?”

we also want to understand:

  • What can’t you do today that you want to be able to do?
  • How long has the problem been present?
  • What treatments have you already tried?
  • How much is it affecting your activity and quality of life?
  • How are you sleeping and recovering?
  • Are there lifestyle or health factors that may influence your recovery?
  • What would meaningful improvement actually look like to you?

Because the goal isn’t simply to perform a procedure.

The goal is to build the right plan for the person in front of us.

THE MAGIC-WAND QUESTION

If You Could Improve One Thing Over the Next 90 Days, What Would It Be?

Forget the names of treatments for a moment.

What would you actually like to change?

Maybe you want to:

  • Walk farther with less limitation
  • Return to hiking
  • Get back on the pickleball court
  • Exercise more consistently
  • Improve mobility
  • Recover better after activity
  • Address a nagging old injury
  • Feel more confident using a painful joint
  • Maintain an active lifestyle as you get older
  • Spend less of your day thinking about discomfort
  • Explore options beyond what you’ve already tried

Your answer matters more to us than which treatment you initially think you need.

WHAT IS REGENERATIVE MEDICINE?

Regenerative Medicine Is About Biology, Signaling and the Environment for Recovery

Regenerative medicine is a broad and evolving area of healthcare focused on understanding and influencing the biological processes involved in tissue signaling, inflammation, recovery and repair.

You’ve probably heard terms such as:

Stem cells. Exosomes. Secretomes. PRP. Peptides.

Those terms can become confusing very quickly.

At Revitalize, our job is not to overwhelm you with scientific terminology.

Our job is to help you understand the options, the limitations, the current evidence and what may—or may not—make sense for your situation.

UNDERSTANDING THE TOOLS

Stem Cells, Exosomes and Secretomes: What’s the Difference?

They’re often grouped together under “regenerative medicine,” but they aren’t the same thing.

CELL-BASED REGENERATIVE BIOLOGICS

Think of certain regenerative cells as communication hubs.

Rather than thinking about them as tiny replacement parts, it is more useful to understand that cells can interact with their surrounding biological environment through complex signaling processes.

The exact characteristics of a cell-based product depend on its source, processing, composition and intended use.

EXOSOMES

Think of exosomes as tiny packages involved in cell-to-cell communication.

Exosomes are extremely small extracellular vesicles released by cells. They can contain biological materials involved in communication between cells.

Because exosome science is still developing, the source, composition, processing, route of administration and evidence behind a specific product matter.

SECRETOMES

Think of the secretome as the broader collection of substances cells release into their environment.

Depending on the preparation, a secretome may contain combinations of proteins, signaling molecules, growth factors, cytokines and extracellular vesicles.

Rather than focusing on one isolated component, the concept involves a broader mixture of cell-secreted factors.

Smaller Doesn’t Mean Better. More Expensive Doesn’t Automatically Mean Better.

This is important.

There is no universal regenerative product that is right for everyone.

Different approaches involve different biological materials, different evidence, different considerations and different potential applications.

That’s why your Revitalize evaluation starts with:

What are we actually trying to accomplish?

Only then do we talk about tools.

SECTION: VISUAL SIZE COMPARISON

The Difference in Scale Is Enormous

A typical mesenchymal stromal/stem cell is measured in micrometers.

Exosomes are measured in nanometers.

That means they exist at dramatically different biological scales.

Untitled design 6

Think of it this way:

Cell-based biologic: the large communication hub

Exosome: a microscopic communication package

Secretome: a broader collection of released biological signals

Different tools. Different characteristics. Different considerations.

THE REVITALIZE DIFFERENCE

We Don’t Believe in “Poke and Pray” Medicine

A regenerative procedure shouldn’t simply be:

Pick a product → inject it → see you in two months.

We believe the surrounding environment matters.

Your health history matters.

Your lifestyle matters.

Your activity matters.

Your recovery matters.

Your expectations matter.

And what happens after a procedure matters.

That’s why we view regenerative medicine as part of a program, not simply a product.

OUR PROCESS

The Revitalize Regenerative Medicine Process

1. Establish Your Baseline

We start by understanding where you are today.

That may include:

  • Location of discomfort
  • Day-to-day pain or limitation
  • Mobility
  • Activity level
  • Sleep
  • Recovery
  • Previous injuries
  • Prior treatments
  • Imaging when relevant
  • Quality of life
  • What activities you have stopped or reduced

2. Define Your Goal

We want to know what success means to you.

Not someone else’s definition.

Yours.

What do you want to get back to doing?

3. Understand the Bigger Picture

Sometimes the site that hurts is only part of the story.

Depending on your circumstances, we may consider factors such as:

  • Movement
  • Strength
  • Recovery
  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Stress
  • General health
  • Prior procedures
  • Medications
  • Relevant medical history

4. Discuss Your Options

If regenerative medicine appears reasonable to consider, we’ll walk through the available options.

That discussion may include regenerative biologics as well as supportive approaches available through the Revitalize and ROHCT ecosystem.

Not every patient needs the same thing.

And not every patient needs regenerative medicine.

5. Build an Individualized Plan

Depending on your goals and clinical circumstances, recommendations may involve a single intervention or a broader recovery program.

The important part is that the plan is built around you, not around selling a predetermined procedure.

6. Measure What Changes

People adapt quickly.

Sometimes improvement happens gradually enough that you don’t notice it from one day to the next.

That’s why we want to establish a baseline and follow progress over time.

We may track changes in:

  • Pain or discomfort
  • Activity tolerance
  • Mobility
  • Function
  • Sleep
  • Recovery
  • Ability to perform meaningful activities
  • Overall quality of life

We want to be able to answer a simple question:

Is your life actually changing in a meaningful way?

POSSIBLE AREAS OF FOCUS

What Are You Trying to Improve?

Our initial regenerative medicine evaluations may be appropriate for people interested in discussing concerns involving areas such as:

JOINTS & MOBILITY

Knees
Hips
Shoulders
Other musculoskeletal concerns
Mobility limitations
Activity-related discomfort

RECOVERY & PERFORMANCE

Old injuries
Exercise recovery
Active lifestyles
Recreational athletics
Maintaining function over time

HEALTHY AGING & WELLNESS

Maintaining activity
Supporting recovery
Staying physically capable
Exploring emerging regenerative approaches as part of a broader wellness plan

HAIR & SKIN

Revitalize may also discuss regenerative aesthetic approaches for appropriate patients, including selected applications involving skin and hair.

SEXUAL WELLNESS

For appropriate adult patients, regenerative options may also be discussed as part of a broader sexual wellness evaluation.

MORE THAN ONE TOOL

Regenerative Medicine Doesn’t Exist in Isolation

One of the advantages of the Revitalize ecosystem is that we already think about health from multiple directions.

Depending on the individual, a regenerative plan may be considered alongside supportive services such as:

Hyperbaric Oxygen

Red Light Therapy

Recovery & Mobility Strategies

Wellness Services

Lifestyle Optimization

Selected IV or Supportive Therapies

Medical Evaluation and Follow-Up

The goal isn’t to throw everything at you.

In fact, sometimes doing too much at once makes it harder to understand what is actually helping.

We prefer a thoughtful, progressive approach.

WHY REVITALIZE

Why Bring Regenerative Medicine to Revitalize?

Revitalize was built around a different idea of healthcare.

Treat the person—not simply the label.

Our work began largely in mental health and interventional psychiatry, where we learned that complex problems rarely exist in isolation.

Over time, that philosophy naturally expanded.

Brain health.

Physical health.

Recovery.

Movement.

Sleep.

Stress.

Connection.

Lifestyle.

Performance.

Quality of life.

They’re connected.

Regenerative medicine represents another set of tools we can thoughtfully add to that larger picture.

Our philosophy remains the same:

Understand the human.

Identify what’s getting in the way.

Use the right tools at the right time.

Measure what actually changes.

CASEY

A Note From Casey

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked with people who want something to change in their lives.

Sometimes that has meant depression, anxiety or trauma.

Sometimes it’s been performance, wellness or simply wanting to feel better.

And increasingly, I’ve met people who tell me:

“Mentally, I’m ready to live my life—but physically, my body is stopping me.”

That’s one of the reasons we’ve expanded into regenerative medicine.

I’m fascinated by these emerging technologies, but I’m even more interested in something much simpler:

What do you want your life to look like?

Because I don’t think healthcare should start with:

“Which procedure can I sell you?”

It should start with:

“What matters to you?”

Then we determine what tools make sense.

Sometimes regenerative medicine may be one of those tools.

Sometimes it won’t be.

But the conversation begins with you.

— P. Casey Dubravcic, PMHNP-BC

WHO MAY WANT AN EVALUATION?

You May Want to Talk With Us If…

You’ve been dealing with an old injury that continues to limit you.

You’ve tried conservative approaches but still don’t feel where you want to be.

Your mobility is beginning to affect your lifestyle.

You want to stay active as you get older.

You’re interested in regenerative medicine but don’t know what is legitimate, appropriate or relevant to you.

Someone told you that you “need stem cells,” but nobody has really sat down and explained the options.

You’ve been comparing clinics based on cell counts, product names or prices and want help understanding what actually matters.

You’re curious about regenerative medicine but don’t want a high-pressure sales pitch.

Or you simply want to ask:

“Is any of this appropriate for me?”

That’s a perfectly reasonable place to start.

WHAT THE EVALUATION IS NOT

You Don’t Need to Know Which Treatment You Want

You don’t need to arrive asking for stem cells.

You don’t need to understand exosomes.

You don’t need to know what a secretome is.

You don’t need to have already decided to undergo a procedure.

The purpose of the evaluation is to understand your situation and educate you about reasonable options.

Consultation does not obligate you to undergo treatment.

SECTION: FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer stem cells?

Revitalize offers regenerative medicine evaluations that may include discussion of cell-based biologic products and other regenerative approaches. The terminology, composition, regulatory classification and appropriate use of any particular product matter, so we prefer to discuss the exact option being considered during your evaluation rather than treating all products marketed as “stem cells” as interchangeable.

Do you offer exosomes?

Exosome-based products may be discussed within our regenerative medicine program when clinically and legally appropriate.

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles involved in cell-to-cell communication. They are an active area of scientific research.

There are currently no FDA-approved exosome products for treating diseases or conditions in humans.

What are secretomes?

A secretome broadly refers to substances released by cells into their surrounding environment. Depending upon the preparation, these may include proteins, cytokines, growth factors, extracellular vesicles and other signaling molecules.

The composition of different secretome-derived products can vary significantly.

Will regenerative medicine regrow my cartilage?

We do not promise that regenerative procedures will regrow cartilage or reverse structural degeneration.

Regenerative medicine is an evolving field, and results vary based on the person, condition, product and numerous other factors.

Our goal is to establish realistic expectations and focus on meaningful measures such as symptoms, mobility, function, activity and quality of life.

How quickly will I notice a difference?

There isn’t one universal timeline.

Responses vary substantially depending on the individual, the underlying issue, the intervention and other factors.

Regenerative approaches should not be thought of as instant pain medication. When improvement occurs, it may develop gradually.

We’ll establish expectations and follow-up plans based on your individual situation.

Is regenerative medicine guaranteed to work?

No.

We do not guarantee outcomes.

Healthcare involves biological variability, and individuals can respond very differently to the same intervention.

Part of our evaluation is determining whether the potential benefits, uncertainties, costs and alternatives make sense for you.

Are these treatments FDA approved?

This depends on the exact product and intended use.

FDA regulates regenerative medicine products, including stem-cell and exosome products.

Currently, the FDA-approved stem-cell products in the United States are blood-forming stem-cell products derived from umbilical cord blood for specified disorders of the blood-forming system. There are currently no FDA-approved exosome products for treating diseases or conditions in humans.

If an option discussed with you is not FDA-approved for its proposed use, that will be discussed as part of the informed-consent process.

Is regenerative medicine right for everyone?

No.

Medical history, medications, current health conditions, previous treatments, expectations and the nature of the problem all matter.

Some people may be better served by another treatment entirely.

That’s why we require an evaluation rather than treating regenerative products as one-size-fits-all solutions.

Do I need imaging?

Sometimes.

Existing X-rays, MRIs or other studies may help us understand what’s happening, but whether new imaging is appropriate depends on your particular concern.

If you already have relevant imaging or reports, bring them with you.

What if I’ve already been told I need surgery?

A regenerative medicine consultation does not replace an appropriate surgical evaluation.

In some situations, structural problems require surgical or other conventional treatment.

Our job is to help you understand where regenerative medicine may—or may not—fit among your available options.

Can I just call and order a regenerative treatment?

We prefer to start with an evaluation.

The central question is not:

“Which product do you want?”

It’s:

“What are we trying to accomplish, and what is the most reasonable path toward that goal?”

In Closing

Stop Choosing Treatments. Start With Your Goal.

You don’t need to understand stem cells.

You don’t need to compare billions of exosomes.

You don’t need to decide which procedure you want.

Start by telling us:

What hurts?

What is it stopping you from doing?

What have you already tried?

And what do you want your life to look like instead?

We’ll take it from there.
